Abstract :This paper discusses how Japan is depicted in Hollywood movies. Whereas Paris in Hollywood movies is always portrayed as a romantic city, Hollywood's Japan is always exotic, dark and with a dangerous tint. The classical story of a white man who has to come to Japan for some reason and whom fate takes to the position where he has to fight evil is a must-be pattern that is still seen in the present. Through these heroic epic narratives they re-realize what the Whiteness is, and what is not. This paper also discusses more extensively if the Whiteness is unalterable over time.
