Description :This report presents the results of an evaluation about the curriculums and teaching methods by the students of Faculty of Engineering, Niigata University. This evaluation was done by the junior of undergraduate course and the second grade of graduate course. The questions consist of the following categories; 1) motives for enrollment in Faculty of Engineering, Niigata University 2) expectation in undergraduate days 3) necessity of general education 4) curriculums and teaching methods in the major course 5) failure (repeating the same class) 6) motives for enrollment in graduate school. Difference in the attitude to the general education was found between undergraduate students and graduate students; Graduate students recognized the importance of general education more in comparison to undergraduate students. In the major course, about 60% of the students feels that the level of the lectures are proper. About 1/3 of the students feels that the lectures are difficult but more than 40% of such students attributed it to their insufficient effort. For the improvement of teaching methods, the students expect to improve the lectures in some ways. For example, the students want the teachers to use proper examples. As conclusion, this evaluation provided some useful suggestions for the improvement of the education.
